GOLF STARTER

Under the direct supervision of the Golf Services Manager, the Golf Starter will provide absolute satisfaction to our membership and guests  in a consistent manner and to present ourselves as friendly, courteous and willing to assist at all times.

 

OPENING SHIFT 6:00 am 2:00 pm

  • Check-in with Golf Shop for the daily happenings.
  • Set up all comfort stations including AED's and telephones.
  • Prepare upper #12 practice area with practice balls and plungers.
  • Supply tee #2 box with scorecards, tees, pencils and daily pin sheet.
  • Set up main putting greens with Titleist Pro V1's pyramid style
  • Assist Golf Service Staff with pulling bags and carts for daily play.
  • Prep guest tags for the day.
  • 8:00 am monitor on-course play chart transportation and players from earlier times.
  • Welcome members and guests on the first tee.
  • Start play in a timely manner.
  • Check pace of play through 6 holes, 9 holes, and on-course (ranger runs).
  • Update starting sheet (in Golf Shop) confirm all play and transportation including # of holes played.
  • Assist when and where needed.
  • Communicate with Golf Shop or next Starter about course pace of play and/or happenings.

 

MID DAY 10:00 am 6:00 pm

  • Check-in with Golf Shop for the daily happenings.
  • Prep guest tags for the day.
  • Monitor on-course play chart transportation and players from earlier times.
  • Welcome members and guests on the first tee.
  • Start play in a timely manner.
  • Check pace of play through 6 holes, 9 holes, and on-course (ranger runs).
  • Update starting sheet (in Golf Shop) confirm all play and transportation including # of holes played.
  • Assist when and where needed.

 

 CLOSING SHIFT 2:00 pm-Close

  • Check-in with Golf Shop and current Starter for the daily happenings.
  • Be sure guest tags are prepared.
  • Monitor on-course play chart transportation and players from earlier times.
  • Welcome members and guests on the first tee.
  • Start play in a timely manner.
  • Check pace of play through 6 holes, 9 holes, and on-course (ranger runs).
  • Update starting sheet (in Golf Shop) confirm all play and transportation including # of holes played.
  • Take-in comfort stations including AED's and phones.
  • Lock on-course restrooms.
  • Remove flagsticks holes #1-#18.
  • Clean-up and bring in balls and plungers from upper #12 practice area.
  • Assist Golf Service Staff pick driving range, wash carts and clean clubs.

 

Dress Code:  DCC Staff Shirt / Khaki Slacks / Hat

 

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have ability to lift 30 plus pounds
  • Neat professional appearance at all times. 
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • An outgoing personality, must be comfortable approaching, greeting, and conversing with our Membership. 
  • A positive "others first", team oriented attitude
  • Work holidays and weekends

 

Benefits offered after service requirement is met, complimentary employee meals and other club perks offered. DCC Scholarship eligibility after 1 year of service, or 2 completed seasons.

Integrity Test Completion and Pre-employment background check required for all new hires. The Denver Country Club is a drug-free environment.
